Small Groups - Vision

Our vision is that, where possible, everyone in the church family is part of a small group. This is because, in a congregation of our size, it is good to have slightly deeper Christian relationships with ten or twelve people as well as knowing a broader range of people.

While the groups in the church are quite varied, they do all share the same broad vision:

  • Growth and discipleship
  • Care and support
  • Evangelism
  • Integration

What are the different groups at Chalmers?

The website contains details about each of thesmall groups. They are organised into different networks, grouping together people at similar stages of life.

The three largest networks are:

  • House Groups (for adults round the city)
  • CORD (for postgraduates and young workers) and
  • Focus (for students).

Alongside this there is also:

Being in a small group is beneficial for all the reasons outlined above. It is also enormously enriching and fun. You don’t need to commit to coming every week, but can come when you can.

If you’re not sure which group would be best for you please speak to one of the Elders who will be happy to help or email Fiona MacKenzie.
