A few times a year on a Saturday morning, there's an opportunity to explore scenic areas around Edinburgh while getting to know others. The walks are for anyone and are advertised on the website and on Sundays. There's no need to have a church connection to come.
Waterproof clothing is needed and proper walking boots depending on the walk. Sometimes you're also asked to bring a packed lunch. The walks are typically advertised at least two weeks prior to the walk itself, so watch out for details. Please do come along!
The next Chalmers Walk will be on Saturday March 14th
and will be a linear walk along the Haddington to Longniddry Railway Path starting at Gateside Road Haddington, walking to Longniddry and then down to the coast and finishing at Cockenzie House and Gardens (7-8 miles). For those wanting a shorter walk there is the option of going as far as Longniddry (4 miles) where we will stop for lunch and there are trains and buses back to Edinburgh and a shop and café to buy lunch if preferred. To get to the starting point buses from Edinburgh (Princes Street X7 10.06 or Bus Station 253 10.00) get to Gateside Road around 10.45 so we will aim to set off just before 11 a.m. All are welcome.
