Coming to Edinburgh for university might well be very different to what you expected! But we still want to be a local church that supports you during your time here. Have a look at our new welcome video and the page below to get a feel for what being a part of our Church Family would be like. For more updates for students at Chalmers, check out our Facebook group
Focus is our undergraduate student small group that meets on Tuesdays at 5.30pm. Alongside Sunday services, Focus is at the heart of what being an undergraduate student at Chalmers Church is all about. It is a great way to get to know Jesus better, benefit from the experience of other Christians, pray for one another and encourage one another, all the while building deep and lasting friendships! Get in touch with Davi to sign up.
Link Up Sundays
Normally we would meet most Sundays during term time after the 11.30am service for lots of food, meeting other students, chatting about life and about the sermon. Unfortunately we can't do this! Instead, fortnightly, someone from the church would be happy to take you out for a walk as a means of supporting you and getting to know you. Sign up for this is available by getting in touch with Davi.
The Weekend Away is always a highlight of the student calendar. It is a time when we get to spend time together with friends in our church family digging deeper into some core Bible truths together. This will still be the case this year even though we will be online! Andy Buchan (one of our elders) will be addressing us on the topic of God's Sovereignty. Spending time considering this will be great for broadening our appreciation of our God. We’ll also have some seminars and some time to have fun together. Make sure to get these dates and times in your diaries - Feb 5th (night), 6th (multiple sessions throughout the day with plenty of breaks). We look forward to seeing you all there!
Chris Turner, History Student
"The student weekend away is a fantastic opportunity for spiritual growth as a student within the church family. It's great to be able to gather everyone together for a weekend and get stuck into the bible together! It's also the perfect opportunity to take a break from essays and looming exam prep."
